2117 Hinckley Hall

One of the things I do enjoy about my job is my mornings. I have an hour or two every morning just to me. Part of this morning routine is a 20 minute drive to work. Depending on the radio situation, sometimes I drive in silence. Today was one of those days. And on this morning's drive I started thinking about how I graduated from high school almost 10 years ago. It got me thinking about my freshman year at BYU. And that got me laughing. So for those of you who remember those days, here were some of my favorite memories.

Scoreboard Grill minus Trent, trips to Park City, Homecoming and Preference (maybe minus our dates!), BYU sports, the Cannon center, Wendy's especially when there are proposals, lunch in the Cougareat with my siblings enjoying our DiningPlus, Free Cell, hanging out in my dorm room because I had the cool roommate, "We Can Be Together Forever Someday", Lindsey's obsession with African-Americans and the Priesthood, being published in The Daily Universe (though my friends plastering that all over Helaman Halls wasn't so fun), using UTA for all of our needs, getting the best service in the accounting lab because I knew the right people.

I am glad I was a Hinckley Hall Honey. (BTW, my younger brothers John and Craig have informed me that Hinckley Hall girls are not honeys but a similar word with a few less letters!) But I am also glad to be done with that stage of my life!

I thought I'd figure more prominantly in your frosh memories - I'll try not to take it personally.

I had forgotten about some of those things. Your post made me laugh out loud. The dorms are a crazy place to be. Remember Julie's boyfriend serenading outside our room in the middle of the night with his violin? What about our crazy RA, Jenny? I can't help but look back on those days with fondness, but I agree, I'm glad I'm not 18 again!

Oh my goodness, that was the most fun year EVER!! I have a few pictures I think I need to dig out....involving interpretive dance I believe? I can't believe it's almost been 10 years.
