So anyone who knows Erich very well knows that he is a little boy in an adult body. He is very into his toys and takes great pride in them. Sometimes I love this about him and sometimes it drives me crazy.
His favorite toy is his car. He loves it- mainly because he races it and he thinks it is fast. Larry H. Miller, owner of the UT Jazz, has opened a racetrack in Tooele where no-names like my husband can go and race their cars on a track. It isn't really racing per se- it is just driving on a track. They let different groups on and you can pass people but they don't time you and no one wins an award. It is all about bragging rights between your friends. Since spring has finally arrived here, last Saturday was the first track day of the season. Erich spent the week prepping his car. He was like a little kid waiting for Christmas. When I asked how it went, he said, "I dominated."
His other favorite toys are remote control planes. He and 4 or 5 guys in our ward all have planes. They get together to work on them sometimes and love to go fly together. They go to the park and fly until everyone crashes. (Last night, Laney and I went to watch as it was finally warm enough to stay outside for a long period of time). In our office, we currently have 4 planes hanging up. It is craziness. Last weekend, this picture shows Erich's dedication to the hobby. He was laying next to his battery charger trying to get all of his batteries charged when he fell asleep. And he was sound asleep.
And to prove he really love his hobbies, he is currently on a plane to Florida with one his friends. They happen to know some semi-pro race car driver who is racing in Florida on Friday. He invited Erich and Adam to come be on his pit-team for the weekend. They of course said yes and hopefully will have a really fun weekend. Meanwhile, I am going to try to make sure that Laney doesn't ruin any of the remote-control stuff here at home!

That picture is too funny. I'm glad Erich is in Florida since it means you'll be here next month. A good trade if you ask me.
I think all men are just 12 years old at heart, I really didn't realize that until I got married. I guess it keeps us entertained!
I love this about your husband. My brother is the same way! He is model car obsessed and anything motorized...I love that he is young at heart!
Don't all men have toys? I think its just the nature of the beast.
