The Good
- We were able to see almost all of Erich's family. It has been a long time since we have seen them so it was fun to catch up. We were able to meet baby Braydin and Laney met most of them for the first time.
- Disneyland was fun. We only hit 2 rides but we didn't expect to do much more. We enjoyed the parade and I loved people watching!
- Erich enjoyed the churros! I think he ate 3 or 4.
- We stayed in a nice hotel and Erich decided to treat ourselves to some room service breakfast. It was enjoyable and relaxing.
- Laney was great. Considering the amount of stuff we were doing, she was unbelievable. But we have never really known Laney to not be well-behaved!
The Bad
- Laney's sleeping. I am a firm believer in schedules and teaching your kids to put themselves to sleep in their own beds in their own rooms. I did it with Laney at a young age. Unfortunately, going on vacation and sharing a hotel room really puts a damper on that. Laney woke up a 3 times the first night and only once the second night. I think she wanted her own room just as much as we wanted her to have her own room. (Lucky for us, she slept 13 hours last night and has already taken a 2 hour nap this morning!)
- Disneyland's lack of space for babies. All my kid wanted to do was get down on the ground and move around and play. But I was afraid of putting her down because I thought she would get stepped on by one of the thousands of people there. The people at Disneyland should make a big grassy area just for babies!
- My back. I think this trip involved a little too much walking and carrying of things for me. And my back is paying for it. Hopefully if I continue my exercises, I will be feeling better soon!
The Pretty
- One of the highlights of the trip for me was the Ms./Mr. Hawaiian Tropic pageant for children for the state of California that was at our hotel. No intentions of offending but I think beauty pageants are a little funny. Especially when the contestants are barely old enough to walk. I did get a good laugh evey time I walked in the lobby of the hotel though as I was able to see so many contestants in their beachwear, Western wear, evening wear, and such. I do think that most of their mom's were more into the pageant then they were. When they wear shirts that say "Andi's Mom" and talk about buying their kids $600 dresses, I think it is a little over the top. Oh well, to each his own.
I will post some pictures of our trip later!

Only two rides? Was that because of the crowd, or the pregnancy? Dawn said it was crowded when they were there, was it the same for you?
Sounds like a fun trip! I totally laughed about the pageants they really freak me out!
Sounds like fun! Wish I had been there too. I agree with you that figuring out the whole sleep thing with a little one is the worst while on vacation. Can't wait to see pictures!
Are you sure you guys don't want to become pagenat parents. I think you need another expensive hobby.
