Good News and Bad News

I'll start with the bad news so I can get it over with. No induction date for me. I was totally bummed yesterday but have gotten over it now. My body doesn't show any signs of being ready to deliver and so my doctor won't induce. (He isn't the same as Dr. Paul! =)) Plus he will be out of town next week so I will see a different doctor on Monday which means there is no hope for scheduling an induction at my next appointment. When I asked if this baby was ever coming he said, "You should know that 3 out of 4 babies don't come by their due date." So all of you who go to Dr. Paul and get to pick when you have your baby, you are the 1 out of 4 who get to have their baby before it is due! He did tell me he would do what he can to make sure this baby was born the first week of October. I still have a small bit of hope that Allie will come on her own the first few days of October but I am just going to try to be patient with her. But now I don't want her to come until my doctor is back in town because he kindly allows the epidural as soon as you are checked in, even if you are only at a 1 and 1/2. What if I get a doctor who thinks I should wait until I am a 4 or something? I don't think I can handle that pain!

The good news, Allie has a car seat. Yes, they will now let us take her home from the hospital when she does decide to come. That I believe is the last major thing I needed to do before I had the baby. Anything else can really wait for Betsy to get here or until I come home from the hospital. It relieves a lot of stress.

So for now, we play the waiting game.

Sorry you didn't get an induction date. I know that must be disappointing. I am totally with you on getting an epidural as early as possible. I did not feel one single labor pain with Ella (since I was induced and got the epi early) and it worked out quite nicely for me!

Sorry that your doctor isn't quite as easy as Paul to convince of when the timing is right! For your sake, I hope she comes next week.

I don't think I ever commented on your blog about strollers. I have had several double strollers and LOVED my Maclaren. Even my single is a Maclaren. But, I was on e-bay and found a new double stroller that looks awesome...check it out. It is called the "Jane Powertwin Double". It is pretty pricy, but you might find a pretty good deal on e-bay. Hang in there!

Yes, it's really too bad you don't see Paul. I'm sure he would take the future aunt's scheduleing issues into consideration when scheduling the baby's delivery!

personally I like to let them come on their own, I strangely think it's fun with all the excitement and everything, just think about the big water break, or the counting of the contractions. You like math, think of all the math part! Okay so you're not liking this comment, but really I do strangely like to let them come on their own, ... of course mine were both 11 days early, on their own!
