Time to get serious

Allie's birth is quickly approaching. It is time I get serious and get ready for her arrival. I even plan to start writing sub plans today to prepare for my maternity leave. More importantly, there are a few things I need to purchase soon. First, a double stroller. And I have no idea which are good and which are bad. With every stroller I look at, some people love it and some people hate it. So, do any of you or your friends have a double stroller you love? or at least like enough to recommend to me? And we will be purchasing a new carseat as well so if it only works with certain infant seats that should not be a problem.

Hey Mandy, I bought the Mclaren double stroller and I love it. It's side by side, easy to maneuver, lightweight, and compact. It even fits thru doors at the mall. (I guess most sidebyside strollers have a hard time with it.) If you want, you can come check ours out.

I could write a book here. I think I've had 4 double strollers. None are perfect, you have to compromise something with each one. The McLaren is nice, but you can't use an infant carrier with it. It's lightweight and I think that is a very important qualification. Good luck!! Tell us when you find a winner.

I LOVE my Phil and Teds. We got it for the very reason that it has a child's seat attachment for the back for baby #2. (And it's definitely a bonus that it isn't side-by-side.)

Okay now I bought a side by side because someone recommended it, and it was light and nice for things like disneyland, but for the mall or shopping, which is where you'll most likely use it, it totally sucks! You don't fit through any doors or aisle, and you're always knocking stuff over. I'd definately not recommend a side by side.

I have a BOB Revolution double jogging stroller. It is side by side. I love that it fits through standard doors, has nice accessories like cupholders and seperate canopies for each child. The front wheel can either swivel (which is by far easier to maneuver) or be locked for jogging (I don't really jog, so I don't use this option.) It has great shocks and big wheels, making it a comfortable ride for the kids regardless of where you are. And, you can buy an attachment that allows you to snap in an infant car seat. The disadvantage is that it doesn't fold up to be very small. I don't know how others do, but this one is pretty cumbersome when folded. Other than that, I'm a fan!
