I owe my mom a big thanks today. Erich had been wanting to go to this 25 hour car race event in CA for a few months now. Some of his friends are driving a car together and they wanted him to help pit crew. I was always very hesitant as I knew it was this weekend and that I would just be returning to work. I knew he could probably get some of his single friends to watch the girls as he always does but I worried about leaving Miss Allie with single boys. So I asked my mom if she would stay up here after Thanksgiving to watch them. Of course, she agreed. So Erich was able to leave for CA on Wednesday and I was able go to work without stressing about the kids.
Along with watching my girls the past few days while I was at work, she did the laundry, did the dishes most of the time, helped with meals, allowed me to go visiting teaching without the girls, and let Erich and I go to the temple and dinner! She even did Allie's 10:30 pm feeding after Erich left and even volunteered to feed her in the middle of the night. She bunked up with Laney who happened to wake up a few times during the night and just sit in her bed. And she made it seem like there was nothing she would rather do! She really is the best.
Thanks again mom for staying longer with us. Just know that Laney and I both cried when we dropped you off at the airport.

Grandma Betsy really is a rare find, one of a kind. We're all lucky to be mothered by her, and you're blessed to have her for a mother.
Glad things went well with your mother here to babysit. I had planned on calling her this week after we got back, but Laurie and I both were sick and you wouldn't have wanted us around your kids.
