2007 and 2008

2007 has been a good year for us. Laney turned one. We moved to a new house. And we welcomed Allie to the family. I started year number 7 at my favorite junior high. Erich continued to be self-employed doing various different ventures. (We haven't really loved the slow-down in the real estate and mortgage industry but we manage.) We enjoyed Disneyland with Erich's family. We have enjoyed many trips to AZ (Erich only joined the girls and I on one of those trips). Erich has participated in lots racing events and still thinks race cars are the best invention ever. We travelled to CA to Craig and Taylor's wedding and were glad to welcome Taylor to the family. And most importantly, we are healthy and happy.

We welcome 2008. We look forward to seeing what is brings us. While I love my girls, I am hoping that 2008 will be a year without pregnancy for me. I am hoping that maybe this will be the year where Erich becomes our insurance provider and I become the primary care-giver to Laney and Allie. And deep-down, I am hoping 2008 is the year that brings me a warm climate. So secretly (well maybe not so secretly), I am becoming a girl on a mission. I am looking for employment for us (meaning Erich) in a new location (mainly AZ). Erich is about 90% on board with my plan. I am thinking that if I figure out all of the details he will go along with me in the end. So if any of you know of any good job opportunities in a warmer place than here, let me know. Or if any of you have any job searching skills or advice, let me know. (I haven't looked for a job since 2001 and finding a teaching job is much different that finding any other job!)

I hope 2008 brings all of you good health, much happiness, and whatever else you secretly or not so secretly are hoping for!

Side-note: I don't really think that Erich is the primary care giver in our family. My sister and him like to joke about that though.

And I am extremely serious about this new job idea and would really love any advice any of you extremely smart people can give me.

I dont know how many times I have to tell you.... COME TO TEXAS!!!!!!!!!!!! It is definately warmer, teachers get paid a heck of a lot more than in Utah, and Erich could find an awesome job out here.... housing is super cheap, and really nice, traffic isnt awful, seriously, everything is better in Texas!!! Plus, Allie could have a boyfriend =) or Laney, Idont mind Carson going for an older woman!

Good luck with the AZ plan. I suppose the East Coast is not an option for you? What kind of job is Erich looking for? I will consult my smart husband and get back to you with any tips.
