Christmas Recap

We made it back from Arizona last night. We had a great time while we were there and were sad to leave. I cried as I always do when it was time to leave and Laney was very sad to leave Grandma. (Lucky for us, we get to see her in a few weeks when she comes to Utah for a day before driving her parents to AZ!) We especially enjoyed the warm weather and were disheartened to have a snowy house when we came home. Here are some pictures of our trip.

This was Laney's favorite spot at my mom's house- right on top of the butcher block in the middle of the kitchen. She knows this is where all of the action occurs! She figured out how to push the stool over to it so she could climb on it all by herself.

These next pictures are all from Christmas Eve. We had dinner at my parents' house with my sister and her family as well as my parents' neighbors who are practically family and the missionaries in their ward. We had our homemade Cafe Rio food that was very tasty and then had the kids re-enact the Christmas story. Allie was the baby Jesus and Laney was an angel who was not at all interested in what we were doing. Afterwards, my girls received their Christmas jammies and were off to bed.

We woke up and opened presents at my parents. (Allie slept through half of the present opening but didn't seem to mind). Laney seemed to enjoy her new toys but probably would have been happier if they weren't wrapped. Then we had scones for breakfast. Erich, Laney, and I then went to my sister's house to play with her kids. We came home and relaxed before going to dinner at Steve and Colleen's house (the neighbors who are like family). Erich played Guitar Hero with Trent the whole time we were there. The rest of us enjoyed the food and laughed much. We also were able to talk to my little brother John who is on a mission in Baltimore, Maryland. He sounded great and I am excited for his return in May!

The rest of the time there we just hung out with family. One morning, Erich, the girls, and I went to see Erich's aunt and uncle and family. It was fun to see them all as we haven;t seen them since we got married 4 and 1/2 years ago. Otherwise we let Laney play with her cousins which she thought was the best. She likes to think she is as old as them and can do all of the same things they can do. Overall, the trip was great.

It was great for us too! I hope you talk Erich into moving here soon.

Sounds like a really fun trip. Acting out the nativity sounds like a blast, and your girls look adorable in their Christmas PJs!

looks like we missed a fun party, I really like the girls jammies, how come you get skinnier and I get fatter? What's your secret?
