Playing with Laney

Miss Laney seems to be growing up so fast- maybe too fast. While I love to watch her do new things, it makes me sad to think she is getting so old. A few of her favorite activities these days are:

She loves to pretend to have babies. Her dolls, bears, and magnet dress-up doll all qualify as perfect baby canidates. She holds them, pats their back, and even feeds them. Sometimes they get bottles and other times I find them sitting in her seat. Today she even gave them a pudding box and muffin mix to enjoy. Luckily, sometimes she still likes to be my baby as well. She loves to be held in my arms like a baby while I rock her and sing her lullabies. When I finish, she whines and tries to rock herself more.

She loves to play in the pantry. She is constantly getting food out and putting it back in. She uses my containers of flour and sugar to reach higher shelves. And sometimes whines at us for the food inside the packagaing. (Especially mac and cheese and Betty Crocker cookie packages.) I think I am particularly fond of this because my parent's pantry is also a toy storage room. I loved to play house and school and other make beleive games in their as a kid. I like to see Laney doing it as well.

And she likes to tease her parents. About a week ago, she came up with a great stall tactic at naptime and bedtime- giving lots of kisses. When we would lay her in bed, she would pucker up for a kiss. We would kiss her and then start to leave the room. She would pucker up again and again so that you would stay in the room with her. After about 7 or 8 kisses, we would leave her to sleep. Lately she has continued the puckering up, but when we bend over to kiss her, she just laughs at us and gives no kiss. But as we walk away, she puckers up once again only to reject us. Not funny if you ask me.

I love that pic of Laney feeding the baby. My kids love the pantry/playroom at Grandma's too.

I must say that when I met Laney I was a bit shocked at her size. She appears taller in pictures. She is such a cute little munchkin.

that's a funny stall tactic, my kids have plenty of those! Love that she's playing in the pantry, it brings back a lot of memories!

She is so dang cute. I love the one of her feeding the baby. Oh how sweet these little ones are. These are priceless moments and you are doing great with your PAD concept. I think I need to add that one to my list! I love you new header and makeover on the blog. It is fun. I think I need a makeover soon!
