Laney and Allie

Note: The photos used in this post are my photos a day for Feb. 5th.

Laney is 21 months old. I can't believe she is almost 2. It is fun to see her develop more and more of a personality. She loves to play. Right now her favorite play time activity has to do with anything and everything in my kitchen. She loves the tupperware, the pots and pans, the cookbooks, any kitchen tool, and my containers full of flour, sugar, and such. She likes books as well, especially the Little Critter series. And she is finally starting to talk more. I hear mama and daddy a lot more as well as her past favorites of Allie, baby, doggy, and ducky. She has added some other interesting words like eye, belly button, cookie, and yesterday Costco. (Is that a sign that we go to often?) She seems to pick up on new words everyday which makes me happy. Laney also appears to be a tease. She is not afraid to tease us with kisses and she cracks herself up when she denies us of her love. She is determined- especially when it comes to sitting in the middle of my lap while I am holding Allie. My visiting teacher last night used feisty and full of spunk to describe Laney. (I wonder where she gets those qualities from) Laney can also be quite helpful. She seems to be catching on to the concept of cleaning up and will usually help put away a portion of her toys before bedtime. Quite often, she puts my kitchen supplies away for me as well. Overall, she is so fun to have around.

Allie seems to be growing up way too fast. She loves to be on her tummy and usually will roll from her back to her tummy to play. She likes to move her body around in a circle to make sure that she checks out all of the toys Laney has out. She is starting to hold herself up more with her arms. She loves the bath. If Laney weren't splashing her, she would probably stay in it forever. She is becoming more and more interested in toys and especially with putting those toys in her mouth. Allie is close to being a 12 hour sleeper but a slight battle with a cold is making life a little rough right now. Allie seems to be laid back and just content with life in our house. She is developing such chubby cheeks and I think they are adorable. She is quick to smile for us. Basically, she is a joy to have. I feel blessed to have her and am glad she came on her own timing.
