Laney at 22 months

She is almost 2! I can't believe it. Makes me so happy and so sad at the same time. Aside from a few crabby days lately, she is so fun. And I can't believe how much she is learning. I love to watch her try and figure out new things. (It makes me wish that 7th graders learned as much as toddlers and enjoyed it too!)

Here are some of Laney's latest:
  • As I mention every week now, she is always picking up new words. It is nice to know when she wants her sippy cup, her blankets, to eat, and other things. I love to finally be able to communicate more with her.
  • She loves her new puzzle. I am pretty sure if I added up the amount of time she played with it today, it would be at least an hour. I think I am going to have to buy more puzzles because I am a little bored with the fish one. But it amazes me how in just a few short days, she is learning where each fish goes and how to make it fit. (I am not sure if I should worry that she likes to hold the puzzle sideways though.)
  • She loves to sing. We sing all day long. I love to watch her pick up on all of the hand-motions. She loves to have the baby cry on the bus and to have to sun come out in itsy-bitsy spider.
  • She loves to look at pictures. We look at them on the computer, on the camera, and on the phone. She is good at pointing at Allie, mommy, and daddy but seems a little confused when I try to explain that it is her in the picture.
  • She loves to give kisses. Not only do Erich, Allie, and I get them often, pretty much anyone who comes to our house gets them as well. (She obviously takes after her dad!)
  • She is trying to figure out how to jump. She says jump and bends her knees and tries to get some air. I am sure soon enough she will figure out how to but until then, I will just laugh at her attempts.
  • She likes to have the bath water running continually in her bath. That means the water is also draining constantly. Probably a little wasteful but it allows me time to dress Allie while Laney finishes her bath.

Pretty much, I think she is the best. I am grateful she is mine and that because of her I am learning a whole lot about love and patience!

She gets the singing thing from you, remember when you were singing outside, and I was outside at my house on the other side of the wall and you didn't think anyone could hear you and I said over the wall, "You never know who might be listening to you when you sing outside"(something like that) and you started laughing, ahh the memories. Want to be my neighbor now? Only if Erich doesn't kiss me when I come over. J/K but you said that Laney gets that from her Dad, hmmm...What kind of neighbors do you have?
