An update of sorts

I mentioned last Sunday that Laney learned to climb out of her crib. It has made the past week very interesting. There have been times when I have wanted to give up (I even asked my mom if she wanted Laney to come stay for a bit) and there have been other times when it hasn't been too bad.

We have taken her out of the crib. The crib is down and she is currently on her crib mattress on the floor. I think I am going to put her on the twin mattress on the floor. We have had to take the changing table and dresser out of her room as well since she was climbing on those to avoid sleeping. My friend Megan said that Laney's room looked like an insane asylum. What can I say, we are protecting Laney just like those hospitals protect their patients!

Up until today , she has taken a nap everyday except for that Sunday she learned to crawl out. And bedtimes are not too bad as long as we are not playing Rock Band in the family room! We have had to change some things around so that Laney cannot escape from her room during sleeping time but hopefully she will learn.

The funny part is all the crazy places Laney falls asleep. Her favorite place is right by the door and Erich has to slowly push the door and her out of the way so that he can get in to move her to her bed. A few times she has turned her mattress over or put it against the wall and fallen asleep on the floor.

The worst part of the whole change is that she gets up early. Only twice she has come in our room in the middle of the night but she does usually appear about 6 or 6:30 saying uh-oh. Luckily, I am usually up then so she just hangs out with me while I get ready for work!

You are so brave! I haven't done it yet, but my turn is coming. I love the random places she falls asleep, very cute.

Hi there. This post made me laugh so hard! Kids are so dang funny. We are very close to moving Dre out of his crib, but I keep putting it off because I'm so scared of what will happen! A mattress on the floor is a good idea.

Whatever you do DO NOT put these pictures on the family website. I think the aunts would all have heart attacks.

That just makes me laugh. She is so cute! Nathan hasn't made it out of his crib yet, although the past few days he's been refusing naps. Aren't we excited for the
2's to start?
