The day has come

Shortly after giving birth to Allie, I was talking to my sister Courtney about Laney hurting Allie and such. She assured me that as Allie grew up and could do more, my girls would take a greater interest in each other and actually want to play with each other. I am happy to report that the day has come. And it makes me happy. While they still don't really understand how to play with each other, they love to try.

They spend lots of time crawling on the floor chasing each other. Often times Laney is leading the way and turning around saying things like "Mon Allie" (translation: come on Allie) or "Allie girl". But sometimes Allie is leading the way and laughing hysterically that Laney is chasing her. The best part is that then Laney fake laughs to imitate Allie. Laney has even taught Allie to go down the two steps in my parents' house face first.

They can even attempt to play with the same toy together. And that is successful until Allie takes Laney's favorite piece and Laney gets mad.

And just so you don't think that they get along too well, anytime kids are playing too much with Allie, Laney takes it upon herself to get mark her territory and make sure people know that Allie is HER sister. She kindly gets in the middle of the group and does something like strangle her sister or push her.

My question is how to stop the strangling, hitting, kicking, pushing, and yelling. I have probably three times as much of that as I do the playing nicely. I hate it. Jack does it for the same reason to get more attention to him.
