We live with my parents. My youngest brother, who is almost 22, also lives here. About a month after Laney was born, he left on a mission for our church. He came home about 2 months ago. Up until now, he has never seen me as a mother. Not a big deal. But he must have been scarred from his childhood. (I frequently babysit him and my other younger brother Craig.) And I must have been really mean or really bad at it. (To my defense, the only mean thing I did was forced them to eat all of their dinner one night.) Because quite often he says to me, "Mandy, I am really impressed with you," or something like that always in context of my mothering. And it is not as if I am going above and beyond in the mothering department when he mentions it. It is always when I am doing simple things like today when I changed Laney's diaper or another time when I put Laney in time out for trying to kill Allie. Don't all mothers do these things?
I am not sure if I should be flattered or insulted.

Just be flattered, John has always been nice, but became even more so on his mission. Plus you really are a good mother, and it's good for a young boy to see all that is involved!
