Some of my favorite conversations as of late

As I am carrying Laney to the car after church on Sunday:
Me: Laney, did you have fun in nursery.
L: Yes
M: What did you do?
L: Eat crayons.

A daily conversation between Laney and Erich
E: what did you have for breakfast?
L:oatbowl
E: Say oat
L: oat
E: say meal
L: meeal
E: say oatmeal
L: oatbowl
E then shakes his head

One overheard this morning:
L: Grandma, Laney toasts
My mom gives her a little bit of toast
L: Monkey toast
My mom then breaks a small piece of toast off for a pink stuffed animal
L: Monkey toast hot
Laney then blows on monkey's toast
L: Monkey toast okay now
Laney then gives her the piece of toast

Will someone please tell her the monkey is NOT real.

If I remember correctly you had an imaginary friend for a long time. A play monkey seems more normal than an invisible friend.

you've got to let her think Monkey is real and Santa too, tell Erich he's a big bum if he teaches her about the Japanese instead.

What's this business about the Japanese? Did Erich tell Seth that there is no Santa and that the Japanese deliver our Christmas gifts?
