Thanksgiving Recap

I love holidays because I love to spend time with my family.  And this year was especially good since last weekend we spent the weekend with Erich's family.  Casey, Kamy and kids as well as my little brother John were all in town for the weekend.  Laney LOVED having all of them here.  I can't tell you how many times she asked me "Where cousins go?"  We played tag and hide and seek and took lots of wagon rides.  We played in the neighbor's backyard and jumped on the air mattress and read books.  We colored and ate and watched shows.  We were sad to see them go.  Allie will not know what to do without the incredible amount of attention that Claire ad Chloe gave her.

Thanksgiving dinner was good.  But Thanksgiving dessert was even better.  I am not a pie person so Thanksgiving dessert never really excited me but this year my mom attempted a homemade coconut cream pie.  It was delicious.  The recipe can be found here.  And the pie crust recipe can be found here.

And instead of getting up early to hit the Black Friday sales, we stayed up and went to the local outlet mall when the stores opened at 11pm.  We found great deals on kids pajamas and a few other things.  And didn't get home until really, really late.

And then yesterday, I felt like I was going to die.  Erich got up early to go racing which meant Laney and I were up early.  And my body just ached.  All over.  And all day.  And I was pretty miserable.

Today I am feeling a lot better.  Not 100% but I think I will survive.  I am convinced again that I really need my sleep.

And today we are starting to put up Christmas.
