Tag Team

When I was 15 years old, my mom was called as the Stake Young Women's President.  I thought no big deal of it.  Over the next five years, I secretly wondered why I wasn't sustained in church as her assistant because that was exactly what I was.  Now my mom is Stake Relief Society president and again I find myself wondering why I am not called as her assistant.  And this week I realized why, we are just tag-team partners.  She just calls me in when she needs some help.  

Today was our ward Christmas party.  Erich was racing(against my wishes) and that left me with both girls and a big breakfast.  Luckily I had delegated out most of the responsibilities but my mom was right by my side helping me out.  She knew the things to plan that I hadn't thought about.  And she helped call all the shots.  She was my tag team partner today.  

I realized it is really the perfect arrangement.  I love living so close to my mom.  I hope one day Laney and Allie will help me and let me help them in the same way.  I think I might start training them early.  Do you think Laney is ready for some diaper duty?
