August 19th

It was a Thursday. Erich had been out of town for 1.5 weeks. He was set to return on Saturday. The kids and I were excited to have daddy home. And the dreaded phone call came- he had to go straight to California the next day for week. And would be there for a week or so. I couldn't tell the girls- they wouldn't understand.

So, I made some calls myself. And Friday I packed the kids up and went to San Diego to my sister's house. Erich was able to join us on Saturday night. And we enjoyed a little vacation. Erich had to work later afternoons/evenings so we played during the day and then sent him away. I had plans to come home on Monday night until Erich discovered he wouldn't have to work on Wednesday. We decided to use our passes to Disneyland and took our vacation to Anaheim.

So Tuesday afternoon, Erich dropped the kids and me off at our hotel in Anaheim and he went to work. I packed the kids up in the stroller and we headed to Downtown Disney. We had some dinner and walked around. And then I took them home and put them to bed.

Wednesday we got up and got ready. And walked ourselves to Disneyland. Laney was so excited when she figured out where we were and Allie asked to go home. But I think by the end of the day we all had fun. We rode rides, visited Toon Town, ate inside Pirates of the Caribbean, met princesses and fairies, ate churros, enjoyed a parade, and wore ourselves out. During the parade, they came to get kids to come dance with them. Laney was all over it. Beebs wouldn't leave out side. In fact, she knelt down on the ground and started to suck her thumb. We left about 7:30 or 8 that night and the girls were asleep before we were off the park grounds.

Thursday morning Erich had to go to work for a few hours so the kids and I hit the pool and hung out. And then we drove home.

While I was so mad when Erich called with the bad news on the 19th, by the time we drove home on the 26th I was grateful for our fun vacation.

Thanks to Court, Jeff, and kids for letting us come stay- even though we stayed a few days longer then we originally planned!

Those pictures are so cute, I wonder if I could get Dallas and Hallie to wear matching outfits like that when we go?
