My Laney girl

I have had this post in my head for a week or two and am just now getting it written- it might be long as I have been adding to it as well for the past few weeks.  But here goes.  And this is my blog so if I appear to be bragging, sorry.

In less than 2 months, this sweet girl will be three.  I can't believe it. I wish she could stay this age forever.  I love this age.

I love that she comes up with funny things to say.  Every morning after the girls have bathed, dressed, and had their hair done, she says to Allie and I, "Come on guys.  Let's go play in my room."  (Mind you, the only thing in her room is a bed and a dresser.)  Or when she turned the fan on its highest setting the other day, she exclaimed, "It's going crazy!"

I love that she is at an age where she gets excited about little things like the wind or going to the bank with Erich or me.

I love that she is becoming independent- that she likes to dress herself (except those pants that are hard to pull up) and help buckle herself in the car seat and put her own dishes in the sink.

I love that the only full length movie she will watch is the first Harry Potter.

I love that she can now sing I Love to See the Temple.

I love that she now understands the concept of talking on the phone.  I am pretty sure Uncle John likes it as well as he calls almost daily to talk to her.

I love that she gets excited to give kisses to everyone before she goes to bed.  Or that she will randomly give big hugs to me.

I love that when I say prayers with her she adds in whatever else she chooses.  For example, a few nights ago it went something like this "Thank you for mommy, daddy, Laney, Allie, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Brad, Uncle Bobby, Scary Guy, Head-broken guy."  Scary guy and Head Broken guy are the costumes my neighbors were wearing on Halloween and Uncle Bobby is MY uncle who was in town last week and stayed with us.  And sometimes it is "Thank you I play outside."

Now don't you worry, she is by no means perfect.  Quite often when Allie is crying, I ask what happened and Laney answers, "I pushed her."  And she is becoming slightly bossy.  She is known to throw fits.  Her nursery leader reports that "She holds her own in the nursery."  And she has mastered the techniques of sneaking candy from Grandma's candy jars.  Regardless, I love her more than I ever knew was possible and I think she is pretty close to perfect.

Ohhh! That is so cute that she mentions my dad. He will be happy to hear that.

such a cute post Mandy! I love that age too. Good for you for documenting it, it goes by quick. I still love the age that Asher is now, but now that he can say more things and is just a little more "grown up" at 4, there are not nearly the amount of funny comments as there were a year ago.
