For example, if I give her a snack she says "Thanks you for the snack mama."
And when I brought her home Diego boy's underwear, she replied with "Thanks for buying these for me."
And when she sneezes and Allie and I say bless you, she says, "Thanks for blessing me."
Or when I ask her if we need to go the bathroom, she replies with "No thank you." Luckily, most of the time, she has that right.
But recently she has become a little confused about when no thank you is appropriate.
When I tell her it is time to go to bed, she often replies with, "No thank you."
And yesterday when I told her to put her shoes on so we could go to Costco, she said "No thank you. I will just stay here."
I am trying to explain to her that there isn't a way to opt out of some things. She doesn't seem to get it. I guess she thinks if she dazzles me with her manners, I will let her have her way. Doesn't she know yet that I am her mom and not her grandma?

I think your Dad's favorite no thank you was when in church he handed Dallas the sacrament bread and Dallas said, "no thank you." Luckily he likes bread now and enjoys both parts of the sacrament. Since Laney is your kid and will have a strong head on her shoulders you should probably get used to the no thank yous!
that's so funny- grace tells me "no please" all the time to the same kinds of things. at least they're polite?!
