Can someone explain this to me, please?

This is Laney's latest favorite face. None of the pictures show the perfect expression, she moves to fast. But I think you get the idea. (Flared nose and sticking out the bottom lip.) It started about a week ago and it is pretty constant. If she isn't smiling, she is usually doing this. What is it? Where did she learn it? And why this expression? When I try to mimic it, I think it is hard. It is not just an expression you make without thinking. It requires effort. It seems so serious to me, so not my child. This kid is strange- definitely her father's daughter.

In other news, Laney stood unassisted for the first time tonight. It wasn't for long periods of time but she did do it a few times. Until her toys looked more appealing. So fun to see her learn new tricks.

Is Laney's hair getting redder?

What a cute face! Kids are so funny with the expressions they come up with!

It is impossible for Lanely to be anything but ADORABLE!

I like the second one the best. It IS funny...and a little odd. (I guess that means she's YOUR daughter too...)

Um hello? That is the perfect Betsy Cannon I'm mad at you face, like she would make if I went to the front door instead of the back and she was out swimming and I made her come all the way to the door and I could have just walked in the back gate. You obviously make that face when you too are upset. Duh.
