I started my blog a year ago today. Some of you may remember that my first post was about my struggle with being a working mom. It is something I still struggle with today. Luckily, most days I am really at peace with my decision. When I have a bad day at work or a bad night of sleep, I have issues with my two roles but other than that. I am pretty content.
Today, I have a new struggle. It still involves Laney and it still involves mothering. And I am at a loss. Laney has recently started to become a little lore aggressive. She hits Allie. Or steps on her. Or throws toys at her. Not all of the time but at least a few times a day. I guess today, she had a kicking problem in nursery. So how do I teach her that it isn't acceptable? Right now, she gets time out in her crib. And when she gets out she has to give Allie a kiss. But is doesn't seem to be doing anything. Erich and I don't know what to do. We wonder how much she understands about discipline and consequences. So, can anyone give us any help. I am willing to try just about anything. Please help us.

If you find a good solution for the aggressive behavior be sure to let me know!
Mandy- I feel your pain. Sage was aggressive at Laney's age and it was so hard for me. Here's the good news: they grow out of it! Good luck in the mean time...
I think it's just normal behavior (at least I really hope it is). I wish I had a solution for you!
Mandy,
We are dealing with the same issues. I think the more attention we pay to the bad behavior the more Addy does it (she started kicking Luke) She realized the first time she did it my reaction was so much attention she kept doing it even after I put her in time out and explained to her that we don't do that. Now I just ignore it, and for the past four days she has not kicked him. I think she just forgot that she got attention for it. Who knows! I know that with time out we are very selective now when we give it. I still don't think she fully gets it.
