I am not big on resolutions but have one in mind for this year- to do at least one scrapbook layout a week. I haven't done any since Allie was born and need to get caught up. So I started a new layout last night and finished during nap time today. (Don't worry, my house is a mess and I should be exercising but the layout is done. For now.)
It is simple and I think I like it that way. I may add something on the bottom. Also, I am having this inner-struggle about journaling on this page. Part of why I blog is to keep a journal. In fact, I am in the process of getting my Blurb book of my blog ready to be printed. So Allie's birth story is documented. I just don't know if it needs to be documented in the scrapbook as well. Any thoughts?

I'd maybe do a little journaling on the right hand side. Love the colors!
I really think you need to document "her" story in her scrapbook not just your blog. I think the first year book is special that way.
