Today the girls both started pre-school. One of my good friends teaches out of her house and she agreed to take both girls. (Yes, I know Allie is not quite 3 but she has been begging to go since Laney started last year.) All I have heard about for the past week is preschool this and preschool that. They have been so excited about it starting. And to be honest, I have been a little excited for it as well. Laney gets bored with me. Which leads her to bother her sister. School allows her more time to interact with other kids and have some free time from her mean mom! And since Erich has been gone about half of the summer I have been looking forward to being able to go run errands with just one kid or without asking my mom to watch them all.
Amidst all the excitement, my girls very different personalities came out this morning. As we started to drive to school, Allie told me multiple times she no longer wanted to go to school. When we arrived, I unbuckled the girls. Laney quickly exited the car, walked straight past me, and went inside. She never gave me a second thought. Allie, on the other hand, had to be coaxed out of her carseat. As I carried her to the door, she hid her head as to avoid looking at anyone. When I mentioned leaving, she grabbed me tighter. And not until she saw a familar toy and I promised she wouldn't have to come back if she didn't like it did she finally let go of me. I told Ms. Regina if she wasn't okay to call me. And I am happy to report they both loved it. Allie told me she wanted to go back on Wednesday and Laney has been asking all night if she gets to go tomorrow. I can tell it's going to be a great school year.
